Open Source Code

MyBanco is open source. Not just now, but for the future as well.

MyBanco is following the lead of many other successful such as Firefox, Linux and OpenOffice.org by sharing the source code with anyone who uses our (remember: free) product.

What license is MyBanco under?

MyBanco's source code is licensed GNU Affero General Public License. MyBanco is free software: you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the terms of the GNU Affero General Public License as published by the Free Software Foundation, either version 3 of the License, or (at your option) any later version.

Can I change the code?

Yes, you can! The only thing is that, according to the AGPL (which this software uses as it's distribution license), that if the software is used over a communication network, any code changes must be shared with the upstream source. For example, if a change is made to the internet banking application inside MyBanco, any modifications must be sent to the authors of MyBanco (via the 'Contact Us') button. This way, all people will get to benifit from the open source code.
